1. Introduction and Definitions
In these Terms and Conditions:"We", "Us", "Our" means Darras Index Ltd (trading as "The Darras Index")."Advertiser" means any business, sole trader, organisation, or individual who submits or maintains a listing, advert, deal, promotion, or other content on our website."User" means any person who browses, uses, or relies on information on our website (including residents and anyone looking for local services).2. Using Our Directory
For Residents (Users)
Our directory is free to browse. We provide a platform to help you discover local businesses and services, but please note:• We act as a directory/connector only—we do not employ, endorse, or guarantee any Advertiser listed on our site.• It is your responsibility to verify that a business is suitable for your needs before you contact, hire, or book them. This includes checking (where relevant) credentials, qualifications, reviews, references, regulatory status, and insurance.
• Any agreement you make with a listed business (including pricing, scope of work, timelines, warranties, cancellations, refunds, and complaints) is solely between you and that business.
For Advertisers
By submitting a listing to The Darras Index, you agree to the following terms:2.1 Free Trial
• All new business listings receive a free 4-week trial.• No payment details are required to start your free trial.
• At the end of your trial, you may choose to continue as a paid listing or let it expire.
2.2 Pricing, Billing and No Subscription Commitment
• After your free trial, listings cost £1 per week, billed every 4 weeks.• There is no auto-renewal subscription commitment and no long-term contract. We will send you a reminder when your free trial is ending and/or when a payment is due, and you can choose whether to continue.
• If you choose not to continue, your listing will expire at the end of the current free or paid period.
2.3 Free Categories / Free Groups
Some listings may be featured at no cost, including:• Pubs/Restaurants (where they provide exclusive deals for our residents)• Under-16s groups and activities
• Community clubs/eventsWe may amend what qualifies for free inclusion from time to time.
2.4 Your Listing Content (Accuracy + Rights)
By submitting content (including business names, descriptions, logos, images, videos, and contact details), you confirm that:• The information provided is accurate, not misleading, and kept up to date.• You own all rights in the content you provide (or you have permission to use it), including any logos and images.
• You grant The Darras Index a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, display, and promote your listing content for the purpose of operating and marketing the directory (including on our website and social media).We reserve the right to:• Edit listings for clarity, formatting, or length (without changing the meaning).
• Remove, refuse, suspend, or amend any listing that we consider inappropriate, misleading, unlawful, or in breach of these terms.
2.5 Cancellation
• You may cancel your listing at any time by contacting us.• Cancellations take effect at the end of your current free or paid period.
• We may also remove listings at our discretion with reasonable notice.
3. General Liability (Directory/Connector Only)
The Darras Index is a directory/connector service only. We do not:• Vet, verify, accredit, or endorse Advertisers listed on our site.• Guarantee the quality, safety, legality, availability, or suitability of any services, advice, or work provided by Advertisers.
• Arrange bookings, enter into contracts for services, or act as agent for any Advertiser.You acknowledge and agree that:• Any engagement, booking, or purchase you make with an Advertiser is at your own risk and is a contract between you and the Advertiser only.
• We are not liable for the quality of work, missed appointments, delays, defective workmanship, personal injury, property damage, financial loss, or any dispute (including payment disputes) arising from services booked or arranged via information found on our site.To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses arising out of or in connection with:• Your use of (or inability to use) our website;
• Any reliance on information shown in listings;
• Any interaction, transaction, or dispute between you and an Advertiser; or
• Any inaccuracies, omissions, or errors in listing information.Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where it cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
4. Intellectual Property (Our Site Content)
All content on The Darras Index website (excluding Advertiser/user-submitted listing content) is owned by us or our licensors, including our branding, graphics, layouts, text, and website design. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our prior written permission.5. Third-Party Links
Our site may contain links to external websites. We are not responsible for the content or practices of these third-party sites.6. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the new terms.7. Governing Law
