Whalton Village Show 2026: A Full Day Out for the Whole Family
The Whalton Village Show is back this year with one of its biggest programmes yet, and The Darras Index is delighted to share everything on offer for anyone planning a visit.
Music All Day Long
The show opens at 11:00am with a performance from the ever popular Ponteland Community Wind Band, setting the tone for a day packed with entertainment. Later on, the KEVI Steel Band takes over, and music lovers can also look forward to the Rock Choir, harps, Northumbrian pipers, and a short recital from members of Pont Repertory Society.
Something for Every Animal Lover
Dog owners are especially well catered for this year. Alongside the always popular dog show, there is a new dog agility area to test your own dog's skills, plus a dog scurry for showing off retrieving talent. Morpeth Pony Club will also be on hand in the morning, demonstrating horse handling skills through a Junior Games session.
Thrills, Bubbles, and Family Fun
The 3Sixty Bicycle Stunt Team returns throughout the day with jaw-dropping displays of bicycle agility. The Bubble Whisperer is also back by popular demand, wowing children and adults alike with giant bubbles, and letting the kids have a go themselves once the display ends.
New this year is a free children's games area, with Cornhole, Big Jenga, Connect 4, and colouring on offer, alongside a free silent disco for anyone wanting to have a boogie. Energetic youngsters can also take part in a series of fun races.
Classic Cars and Trade Stands
Classic car enthusiasts should head for the static display, where over 80 cars are expected on the day, weather permitting. Anyone wishing to bring their own car along can find details via the Classic Cars page.
Over on the school field, this year's traders' marquee is bigger than ever, with a wide range of stands to browse.
Food, Drink, and the Village Hall Produce Show
Visitors will not go hungry, with wood fired pizza, a hog roast, crepes, coffee, and ice cream all on site, along with a tea tent serving sandwiches and cakes. Tea and homemade cakes are also available up in the Village Hall.
Inside the Village Hall, the traditional competition of home grown produce, homemade cakes, jams, and more returns. Entry to each class is free, though a donation is welcomed. Full details of all the classes can be found on the Make, Bake & Grow page
The show closes at 4pm with an auction of produce at the Village Hall, a great chance to bag yourself a bargain.
Getting There
Parking is available in the field on the Whalton to Ogle Road, with a free shuttle bus running to and from the show ground. Disabled parking is located in the school field, where a steward will be on hand to guide vehicles into place.
Tickets
Tickets can be purchased in advance via the official ticket page and are available on the day.
This is a family friendly show, and all funds raised go towards supporting local groups and charities. The Darras Index encourages everyone in the area to go along and support it.
