Our Code of Conduct

Every business listed with us agrees to this Code of Conduct — a shared standard for fair pricing, honesty and accountability that keeps our directory something the whole community can rely on.
1. Fair, transparent pricing
• No postcode pricing. The same fair rates for every resident, regardless of their address.• No hidden fees. Costs are made clear before any work begins.
• Agreed up front. Quotes and rates are confirmed with you in advance — in writing wherever possible.
2. Honest representation
• Listings are accurate and kept up to date.• Businesses describe their services, experience and availability truthfully, and never mislead.
• Reviews come from genuine customers. Fake, incentivised or misleading reviews are not tolerated.
3. Credentials and verification
• Businesses confirm they hold the qualifications, licences and insurance relevant to their trade.• Where we have been able to check key credentials, a listing may carry a Verified badge to help you choose with confidence.Verification is a helpful signal, not a guarantee. As set out in our Terms and Conditions, The Darras Index is a directory and connector — we do not employ or endorse the businesses listed, so we always encourage residents to carry out their own checks (credentials, insurance, references and reviews) before hiring or booking.
4. Respect and care
• Businesses treat residents, their homes and their time with courtesy and professionalism.• They communicate clearly, turn up when they say they will, and handle any personal information responsibly.
• Complaints are dealt with fairly and promptly.
5. Accountable to the community
• We take concerns seriously and look into reports that a business has not lived up to this Code.• Businesses that seriously or repeatedly breach this Code may have their listing suspended or removed.
• Your feedback helps us keep standards high for everyone in the village.
6. Raising a concern
